A Minute for something personal
I have made my journey with limited success. I achieved somewhat success in my occupation thus far. Few have chosen to do what I and very few others do. I am one of few...you...you're one of Many. Does that anger you? Heh, I don't mind if it does. I've come to the realization that the world is ever changing regardless of whether or not I'm in the country to see it change, it is ever changing. I resent your existence.

You...you have little knowledge of what these paratroopers are minutes from doing.
What are they doing? They're walking to His final respects.
Little can be said...unless it is something you experience for oneself. I say that in hopes that no one will ever have to. I have much to say on the topic, yet when explained, you will never understand the gravity of my path. We are the outcasted few who have seen and done things we might or do regret.

My friend Captain David E. Schultz here. He doesn't regret it.
He did his duty. As a platoon leader, Executive Officer, friend, father, son, husband...he did his duty as a human being...He Did His Duty. A duty so many are afraid to do..
David was 24 years old. Three years older than me. His son Logan saw him for the first and last time during Christmas of last year.
>
Logan will never remember his dad existing. CPT. Schultz will not see his son grow up. Logan wasn't a year old yet. His birthday just passed. Those first steps, first words..he missed them all.
His wife Sabrina, what a woman. She loves Dave, as she call him. She will talk about her husband for years to come, as will we all. There for life in whatever needs she may need, to include Logan. It is the unwritten law. Care for the fallen's family as if they were your own. The passed deserves nothing less.
From what I hear sir, your services were beautiful after your passing. None of us were able to attend but we stay in touch with Sabrina. She loves you and Logan with all she is. You were both lucky to have each other. You knew that already.
>
Your honor guard was nothing but professional. The same quality you would expect from us if we were carrying a paratrooper to their final resting place.
Remember your trip to Gelena where you were buried. Of course you do...your will stated your desire to be buried where your wife grew up. As I'm sure you know...she cried a great deal. But don't worry-her family was there to provide comfort. Her friends were there also. However I apologize for us not being able to attend. Although I'm sure you understand...we were still in Iraq finding the insurgents who murdered you. But I'm sorry sir, we never found them. We did everything you set out to do. We took your personal mission and made it our mission...We continued to deliver everything to the kids that you had ordered.
>
We made sure they knew who it was from. They really did love everything you got them. You had a knack for it sir. Look at them all...Look what you accomplished. You gave those people hope. You inspired your platoon to make headway for this country. "I love these kids", you'd say. They loved us back.
It's that time sir. I'm glad we got to talk all this time. As you can see..
it's time for us to part ways. All The Way, Sir. Don't worry about anything, the Honor Guard cleaned their M-16's prior to your 21 Gun Salute.
It's taken care of sir, their uniforms are squared away.
Yup, it's covered. They've practiced for over a month. They are handling the situation in such a way that is becoming of a United States Soldier.
Sir...Dave...it's covered...your family is in good hands...go now...go wherever it is you go...
Rest in Peace my friend.

Oh and sir one last thing before you go...
I miss you and everything you stood for...

Oh and that vehicle was our SOF-MRAP (which we never used), that sucker was uncomfortable! Oh and it is nice to be back (except for the cold).
